Annette Funicello, an American performer and actress. Annette Funicello was an American actor and singer. The singer's career began as an young adolescent. She was born in Utica and with Italian parents who were immigrants from Italy, Annette was a shy child. When she decided to pursue a professional career in the business, she started dancing and performing. Around the middle of the 1950s, she became famous for her appearance in numerous "Disneysketches. As an adult, Annette shredded her 'Disney persona, and appeared in a number of adult characters.
